Etchen, Alfred; age 59; of Pontiac; passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 at his residence. Dear son of Johnnie B. Etchen and the late John Etchen Sr.; father of Alfred Wooten Jr. of Portsmouth, VA; Charmara Jones of Pontiac, Lora Atheria Williams and Lawrence Alfred Williams of Detroit; brother of Katherine ( Clifford) Glover, Dorothy Simmons, Ora ( Melvin) Boothe and Elizabeth ( Ricky) Warren all of Pontiac. Preceded in death by John Jr, Willie James, David and Eddie. Also survived by host of relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from the Welcome Missionary Baptist Church, 143 Oneida, Pontiac with family hour 12:00 noon until time of service. Reverend Douglas P. Jones officiating. Visitation Tuesday 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery.
