Alice (Arshaloos) Derderian-Kopacz of Waterford; passed away peacefully January 15, 2015 at the age of 89. Alice was born January 13, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the first of three daughters of Dekran and Lousig Derderian. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Pontiac. She attended Pontiac Public Schools, where she eventually graduated from Pontiac High School. She received her Christian education at the Wilson Avenue Methodist Church. Growing up she spent time away from school enjoying life with her parents and sisters, Vienna and Virginia, all of whom have pre-deceased her. Later in her life she met and married her husband, Edward Kopacz, a marriage that lasted until his passing five years ago. Although Alice and Ed never had children of their own, they enjoyed spending time with Vienna and Virginia's children and remained close to them throughout their lives. Following her career at the Pontiac Motor Division of GM, Alice followed her passion for travel and saw the world with Ed. She explored new interests, developing her artistic talents through oil and watercolor painting. Alice never lost her love for music, and would amaze others when showing she could still play the violin and piano, or join in a sing-along. Alice will be remembered by her family and friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Pontiac, Michigan. All are invited to join us between 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for visitation. At 11:00 a.m., Fr. Hrant Kevorkian will officiate the funeral service. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan
