SIMPSON, ALVIN "GIL" of Southfield, formerly of Birmingham, June 7, 2010, age 93.Beloved husband of the late Shurley.Dear father and friend of Mary Blackard of Bloomfield Hills.Loving Grandfather of Melissa (Jeremy) , Kimberly (Bill) and Kelly.Great-Grandpa of Isis York. He was also a Dad and Grandpa to Sharon (Roy), Mieke, Eric, and Michaela.Mr. Simpson owned and operated Commercial Print Co. in Ferndale until his retirement in 1982. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 772nd Field Artillery Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Mr. Simpson was a member of Birmingham Masonic Lodge #44.Funeral Services Wednesday 1:00 p.m. from the Lake Orion Chapel, Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home (248) 693-8336). Interment White Chapel Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday at the Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to donors choice, in lieu of flowers.
