Ann Gay Schmidt

August 18, 1950 — November 7, 2025

Ann “Annie” G. Schmidt was born on August 18, 1950  in Lake Orion, Michigan, to Margaret and Perry Hathaway, Annie was raised in and lived a life full of love, faith, and service. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion.

A woman of deep faith, Annie cherished her relationship with her Heavenly Father and lived each day guided by her belief in love and compassion. She spent time living in Las Vegas, where she continued to touch lives through her volunteer work and the many wedding cakes she joyfully baked for others. Known for her giving spirit and her incredible baking talents, Annie brought sweetness and comfort to every community she was part of.

Annie is survived by her brother Tom; daughters Mary and Sheryl; granddaughters Alissa, Ashlee, and Sheraya; and three great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love. She is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Perry Hathaway, and her sister Mary Hathaway.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the American Legion in Lapeer (entrance at the back of the building) from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the beautiful life of Annie Schmidt.

Her faith, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
