Ardith Mathes

Ardith Virginia Mathes; born January 14, 1955; passed away peacefully July 3, 2021 at the age of 66.  Ardith is survived by her daughter Stacie; grandchildren, Samantha, Tyler, Alexander, and Zoe; and siblings, Beverly, Melvin, and Madeline. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she considered close family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Joe; her first born, Sidney; siblings, Marilyn and Kevin; and her parents, Warren and Retha. She was a very hard-working woman who put in more than 30 years of work at the General Motors Truck and Bus Plant. She would never meet a stranger and was able to spark a conversation with anyone she met, and her contagious laugh will be missed by all whom were dear to her. Her grandchildren were her prized possessions.  Although she had 2 children and 4 grandchildren, she had several adopted children and grandchildren who she loved dearly.  In 2018, Ardith was faced with the hardest battle of life and never let it ruin her positive attitude. She was a fighter and a true hero to many. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 12:00 from the Liberty General Baptist Church of Auburn Hills, MI. Family will receive friends from 4 - 8pm on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Sparks - Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac Chapel. Interment White Chapel Cemetery.
