Arnold L. Dworin ; age 83; of Metamora; Passed away peacefully on November 30, 2015. Born on February 22nd to Samuel and Eva Dworin, he grew up in Pontiac with his late sister Betty Preseau, late brother Phillip (Marylou), brother Jack (Betty) and sister Marie (Kevin) Shivnen. Arnold served in the US Army as a Medic on the battlefield during the Korean War. He returned a decorated hero, married and made Lake Orion home. He became a letter carrier for the Lake Orion Post Office, walking the same route for over 30 years. Together, with his late wife Lorraine they raised four children, David (Marilyn), Darcel (Dennis) Connors, Derek and Dawn (Jeremy) Sjoblom; cherished grandfather of 9; Papa of 2 great-granddaughters; uncle of many nieces and nephews; and a friend to all. Thru his children, he became involved with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, volunteering many years to the organizations. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Beaumont Hospice, the nurses and aides who cared for Arnold at Beaumont Hospital and Heartland Rehabilitation Center. So many friends and family prayed, sent cards and visited Arnold as he battled brain cancer. All meant so much. He loved people, helping anyone he could and above all making someone laugh. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11am at Hadley Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion.
