Arthur Raymond Rozanski; died January 21, 2014; age 90. Former owner of Lake Orion's Art's Courtesy Service Station. He is survived by his daughter Linda (Ron) Chope, James (Pam) Rozanski; grandchildren Matt, Kim, Tami, Kayla and Nancy; great grandchildren Raya, Caiden and Jake; and dearest friend and soul mate Vera Satterfield. Art was a member of the U.S. Army stationed in Weiden, Germany. He met and married Johanna (Hansi) Tegtmeier from Weiden in 1946. Together they moved to Hamtramck where they lived with Art's parents to save for a house. In 1949 they bought a house in the 1st subdivision in Oak Park where they raised three children, Linda, Jimmy and Raymond. In 1968 Art moved to Lake Orion and opened Art's Courtesy Service Station. He became a fixture over the years in Lake Orion and someone that people could turn to for help and depend on him to do what he said. Art eventually became involved with the American Legion and liked to throw parties like Art's Annual Polish Day, that helped raise money for the Legion's projects. Art sold his service station and retired in 2000 at the age of 77. He volunteered at the Lake Orion Veteran's Memorial to help with the landscaping and generally keeping it clean until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He lived at Harbor Chase Memory Care the last three years of his life. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion. Reflections may be shared by visiting www.sparksgriffin.com.
