Barbara Gilchrist

Barbara Gilchrist was born in 1939 in Danville, PA to Emma Jane Hummer-Clarke and Horace “Butch” Roeder. In 1956 she married her high school sweetheart Robert Franklin Gilchrist. In 1965 she joined her husband with 3 kids in tow and moved to Pontiac, MI to work at General Motors. Together they raise 5 children – Robert Jr. (Mary) Gilchrist, Cheryl Gilchrist, Marcy Washington, Brian (Phyllis) Gilchrist and Angela Gilchrist. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her sisters Connie Kuziak and Lori McIntire, both of Pennsylvania. Barb is preceded in death by her husband, her oldest son “Frankie” and grandson Eric Washington. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 4 p.m. at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 171 W. Pike St., Pontiac, 48341. In lieu of flowers, our momma would love memorial donations in her honor to the Michigan Humane Society.
