Barbara Rose Macdonald

Barbara Rose MacDonald; of Oxford; age 74; passed away on October 19, 2019. Barbara is the loving wife of 49 years to Scott MacDonald; loving mother of Scott (Sarah) MacDonald and Kirstie (Andy) Almy; loving Nonna of Avery and Alexander Almy, and Nora and Emily MacDonald; and loving sister of Alfred and James Gardella. Barbara grew up in St. Clair, Michigan and later graduated from Michigan State University with a teaching degree. She taught English and Speech in St. Clair Shores until she had children and stayed home to raise her family. Barbara  loved spending winters in North Port, Florida with Scott and her many friends that she made there.  She also loved to cook, bake, entertain and play cards with her Romeo Pinochle group.  Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, Nonna, sister and aunt and she will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 11am at the Oxford Free Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 4-8pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Grace Centers of Hope .
