Harris, Basil Clarence; December 17, 2007; of Clarkston; age 88. He was born in Koylton Twp., MI on June 3, 1919, son of the late Clarence and Alice (Stamp) Harris. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in North Africa, Italy, Sicily and Corsica and also served in the Korean conflict. He was employed at G M Truck and Coach in Pontiac for 35 years, and after retiring had a second career with Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Basil was happiest sharing experiences with family, especially his grandkids; attending stock car races; and watching NASCAR races on TV. He is survived by his belove d wife of 65 years Ida Mae, as well as daughter Carol Harris Buller and her husband Michael of Mildland, MI; daughter-in-law Karen L. Harris of Clarkston; grandson Jeremy J. Buller (Sally) of Pueblo, CO; granddaughters Annamarie H. Buller of Grand Rapids, MI and Kristen L. Harris of Chicago, IL.; great-grandchildren "Cowboy," Malarie and Ginny Buller; and sister Marjorie Hayward of Charlevoix. He was preceded in death by his son Paul T. Harris, sister Helen Cook and brothers Donald and Lee Harris. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. from the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks- Griffin Funeral Home. Basil's family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment Marlette Cemetery.
