Basil Floyd Wethy

Basil (Budd) Wethy; of Lake Orion; was born on August 6, 1935 in Lake Orion to loving parents, Frank and Marvel (nee Dickinson) Wethy.  Upon high school graduation, Budd married the love of his life, Lorraine (nee Abbey), with whom he spent the rest of his life, gloriously happy.  After a stint in the army, Budd joined General Motors and became a member of the Electrical Apprentice program.  With the training and experience that he received at GM, Budd started his own electrical contracting company, later adding heating and cooling to the skills and services he offered.  As a self-employed contractor, Budd shared knowledge with his sons, son-in-law, grandsons, nephews, and family friends and was proud that he lit the entrepreneurial spirit in several of them.  A dedicated, hard-working man, Budd immensely enjoyed time with his family camping, fishing, hunting, or anything outdoors.  If Budd wasn’t working, he was probably at family property (affectionately called The Farm) in Sears, Michigan, playing on a backhoe and mucking around in ponds.  Budd also had an artistic streak.  Periodically, he would get out paints, pencils, or even a harmonica, and let his creative juices flow.  He became an active member of the Lake Orion Horseshoe and Skymasters R/C of Michigan clubs, building his own aircraft and dreaming of a sky full of his creations.  Budd leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Lorraine; children Steve (Patsy) Wethy, Todd (Lyn) Wethy, and Patrice (Rob) Pullano; grandchildren Scott (Emily) Wethy, Brad Wethy, Sarah (Jordan) Berry, Nick (Jessica)Pullano, Monique Wethy; and great-granddaughter Anna Wethy.  Budd was eagerly anticipating two family additions expected in July.  A memorial will be held this summer at The Farm.  Budd leaves an indelible mark.
