BEATRICE M KONENLong time resident of Lake Orion died on June 22, 2009. She was 89.She will be greatly missed by her five children: Marilyn(Jack)Perkins, Gerrie(Paul)Harding, Thomas(Sandi)Konen, Deborah(Gary)Mulini and Charles Konen. Mrs. Konen was blessed with eleven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who were never far from her mind. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Olden of Utica, MI. Mrs. Konen moved to Lake Orion with her husband Harold(2003) in 1952. They enjoyed countless hours at their home entertaining family and friends throughout the years. She wintered in Central Florida for the past 26 years.Known to many as "Ma" Konen, Bea enjoyed country line dancing, bowling and crocheting. The funeral service takes place June 27 at 10am from St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mrs. Konen will be laid to rest beside her husband of 62 years at Square Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lake Orion Chapel, Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4/6-8. The rosary will be prayed at 6pm. Memorials may be made to Capuchins in Detroit.
