Beatrice Woods

Beatrice “Bea” Woods; of Pontiac, MI; age 98 passed away on February 29, 2024. Beatrice leaves to cherish in her memory her children, Luther Daniel, Arvonne (the late James) Wright, and Elaine F. Daniel; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Daniel, Natashia Daniel (Ricky Dyson), Alisa (Michael) McCowen, Kimani (Doris) Daniel, David Daniel, Nina (Eric) Henderson, Tanya Daniel, Reggie (Tyffanie) Daniel, Jason (April) Daniel, and Erica Daniel; and 62 great grandchildren.

Beatrice’s journey included working for Oakland County and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed going to the casino and gardening, which she done so well at her long-standing home in Pontiac MI.  Beatrice was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for many years, where she served as a mother to the congregation.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents John A. Weaver and Lucille M. Weaver; her son, Wilber Ricks; sister, Katie M. Martin; brother’s, Johnnie B. Weaver and Willie David Weaver.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10:00am - 11:00am with a funeral service to follow from 11:00am – 12:00pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Perry Mount Park Cemetery.  A family gathering will occur on Saturday, February 16, 2024, from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at Bowens Senior Citizens Center 52 Bagley St, Pontiac, MI 48341.
