Benansio Sandoval Castro I (Benny), 82, of Auburn Hills, MI, passed away peacefully in his home on March 29, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on September 27, 1942, in Bay City, MI to his loving parents Melchor Garcia Castro and Ramona Sandoval Castro. Benansio was a hard worker and provider for his family.

Special honorary mention is to Dominic (Siobhan) Anzures, Christina Smyth, Katie and Chelsey Ramirez and all of the chipmunks lol. With love, and memory of them all because he truly loved everybody. Benansio was preceded in death by his parents Melchor G. and Ramona S. Castro. Benansio was one of 14 children. He was the beloved brother of Michael – Mike Castro, Gavina -Rora Miracle, Roque – Johnny Castro, Augustine – Peps (Russell) Cree, Luis – Louie Castro, Alfredo – Fred (Christina) Castro. He was preceded in death by his other siblings: Inez Hernandez, Valeria – Valerie (Jose) Nava, Juanita – Jane (Ramon) Sanchez, Cipriana – Pona Adkins, Cruz – Cochole (Andrea) Castro, Juan – Veto (Janet) Castro, Ascension – Cension Castro. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Benny, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was the “Dad” of the neighborhood and loved everyone who stepped through his door as his own. His children and grandchildren have many wonderful memories of their father and grandfather. Memories of fishing, going swimming and watching the Woodward Dream Cruise. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and the “Numbers”. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. Outside of his abounding love for his family, Benansio found much joy in his trips to the casino with his brothers and playing his numbers!
