Bernadette Brumitt

Bernadette Marie Brumitt 1958 - 2015. Beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, age 56; passed away March 9, 2015. A shining light to all that knew her. She is survived by daughter Jaclyn Brumitt (Carter); brothers Manual Hernandez (Ana), Simon Hernandez, Chris Hernandez; and sisters Dolly Hernandez and Veronica Vasquez (Jim). She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Otilia; and Brother Russell Hernandez. Bernadette retired from General Motors in 2009; she led a joyful life until the end. She enjoyed many activities like gardening, hiking, going on trips, shopping and sampling cuisine and recounting tales of all those activities to family and friends. She was known for her vibrant style. She loved designer handbags in fun colors, glittery gel fingernails and wore bling jewelry where ever she went. She was an avid reader, who loved music, concerts and singing along with her favorite songs in the car. She cared deeply about her family and spoiled them however she could. Everyone who knew her loved her and she will be missed deeply. She lives on through memories and the heart of those who knew her and loved her. May she rest in peace with God and her family in heaven. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Pontiac. Family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7p.m. with Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Interment Ottawa Park Cemetery.
