With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bonnie LeeFisher (Sage), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend.Bonnie passed away in her home on April 23, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 67, after a courageous, years-long battle with cancer. Bonnie loved fiercely and her steadfast loyalty was a constant for all her friends and family. For those blessed with her affection, she was an unwavering shield with her protective spirit. Bonnie was a devoted wife to Greg during their 44 years of marriage. She was a loving Mother to her two sons; Nicholas (Brooke) and Bryan (Kelly) and an incredibly supportive grandmother to Makayla and Carter. She was also survived by siblings; Diana (Dan) Burrell, Debbie (Rick) Wood, Fred Sage, Kim (Chris) Sage-Sowder, Sherry (Tony) King.
Born on June 6, 1957 to Fred and Diane, in Rochester, Michigan. Bonnie grew up with her family in Rochester, was a hard worker in many areas of study but found her happy spot working for a medical office for many years with Dr Heigi. After marrying the love of her life, Greg Fisher, in 1981, they moved to Metamora Greg built the house and Bonnie made it a home. During their wonderful years of marriage, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams. She balanced a career with her greatest role of all—that of “Mom,” and then proudly was called “Grandma.” Whether cheering loudly from the sidelines, planning a girl's day with her granddaughter or volunteering at every sports fundraiser, Bonnie never missed an opportunity to support her two sons, showing them unwavering love and guidance. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Greg and sister Kathy (Larry) Gilbert.
Bonnie’s greatest joys were rooted in family and sports, but found happiness in everyday activities. A devoted fan of the Detroit Red Wings, she attended training camp, and all season long, never missed the chance to catch a game. She loved going to the casino with friends and family, always wagering a “reasonable bet,” knowing she wouldn’t come out ahead and counted on Greg to help them collectively break even or usually come out ahesd. Although blind in one eye, she was an excellent marksman, winning many tournaments at the Oakland County Sportsman Club. She loved gardening and making things beautiful. Whether she was working a concession stand at a fundraiser, or yelling at a referee for two generations of young Fisher sports, everything she did, she did with boundless energy and a can-do positive attitude. It was through her unwavering support; she was able to turn ordinary moments into lasting memories that will forever be cherished.
