Carmen J. Roberts

Carmen J. Roberts; of Lake Orion. Carmen was born in Monessen, Pennsylvania on July 25, 1930; she passed away peacefully at home on September 12, 2017 at the age of 87. Carmen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Bill; her children Kerry (Dave) Tieman and Carleen (Chuck) Penoza; and her five grandchildren Amber, Cassie, Ally, Maddy and Charlie. She is also survived by her brother Bernard (Barb) Jennings; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Jack (Jean) Jennings and Beatrice (Terry) Comiskey. Carmen was raised in Connellsville, Pennsylvania and moved to Michigan in 1955 at the age of 25 to teach Kindergarten at the Oxford School in Dearborn. She married the love of her life, Bill, on April 8, 1967 and went on to reside in Bloomfield Hills where they raised their two children. Carmen also taught pre-school for many years at Fox Hills Elementary in Bloomfield Hills before eventually retiring and moving to Lake Orion in 1994. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lake Orion. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 3-7pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion and on Monday at the church from 10am until the time of service.
