Charity Benton, of Pontiac; May 11, 2006, age 88. Born December 10, 1917. Fondly known as Mother Benton. Wife of the late Tom Benton, Jr.; Daughter of the late Frank Minor and Albertha Johnson. Loving mother of Wilton Christy (deceased), Ruby Lamb, Tommy L. Benton of Pontiac, Michael A. (Bear) Benton and Deborah A. (Jazzie) Benton of Auburn Hills, Michigan. 18 Grandchildren, 30 Great-Grandchildren and 14 Great-Great Grandchildren. Sister of Rosa Jackson, Virginia Darville, Joseph and George Minor of Dutchtown, Louisiana (who preceded her in death). She was a Member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers Board. A dedicated, committed and Faithful Servant until God called her Home. She leaves to cherish her memories, her Church Family and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. with Family Hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery
