Charles Richard "Dick" Badgero

Charles Richard "Dick" Badgero, 91, of Oxford, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Dick was born in 1934 to Max Badgero and Bernease Petty. He proudly served in the United States Naval Reserves, and went on to build a career of more than 30 years with Ford Motor Company at the Romeo Proving Grounds.

Golf was the thread that ran through Dick's life. An avid and passionate golfer, he turned that love into a second act after retiring from Ford, working for several local courses including Boulder Pointe, Devils Ridge, and Oxford Hills. When he wasn't on the course, he could be found tending to his yard, watching the birds, or, best of all, playing with his grandchildren.

In 1954 he married Gloria Jean, and the two shared 72 remarkable years together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Bernease; his sister, Fayanne Badgero; and his beloved daughter, Victoria Lynn.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean; his children, Gerald Richard, Michael Ray, Valerie Jean, and Ann Marie; his brother, Ray Badgero; and his sister, Kathy Schick; along with 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Dick will be laid to rest at Square Lake Cemetery in Lake Orion, Michigan, in a private burial with family.
