Mitchell, Charles Bernard; December 21, 2007; of Pontiac; age 62. Beloved husband of Ann Mitchell. Devoted father of Sheila Mitchell. Son of Florida Liddell. Dear brother to Arthur (Edna) and John (Joyce) Mitchell, Vivian Gamble, Jackie Jackson, Shirley (Terry) Mitchell and Gina Hartsfield. A loving uncle and godfather, he leaves behind a host of cherished nieces, nephews and godchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his father Bernard Hartsfield. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Charles earned a B.A. from Alabama State University; a M.A. from Central Michigan University; and an Ed.S from Wayne State University. As a retired Assistant Principal of Pontiac Northern High School, Charles provided over 30 years of service to the Pontiac School System. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church of Pontiac .Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m.and 7 to 9 pm. with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m..Family hour will be held 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the church.
