Charley was born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi before coming to Michigan. He retired from General Motors, and served as an usher for many years at the Apostolic Church of Auburn hills.

Charley never knew a stranger, and his big smile and warm handshake were his trademark . He loved God and his light shined for all too see.

Here was a man so quiet, sweet, and humble yet his kindness spoke volumes. He was admired, loved and respected by all who knew him, but most of all by his wife, Ilda. They were an inseparable pair and their love for each other was visible to everyone around them. Charley enjoyed reading his Bible, taking long bike rides with his friends (Ken, Milton, and Lupe), watching sports, old cowboy movies, and spending time with family.  Charley and Ilda often attended the many sporting events of their grandkids and nephew’s.  He will be greatly missed, but we know he is happy and riding his bike pain-free in heaven.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 12 noon at the Apostolic Church in Auburn Hills.  The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 11am until the time of service.  Interment Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills.
