"CHET" STANIEC; of Lake Orion, March 3, 2012, age 91.Beloved husband of Eleanor for 65 years.Dear Father of Kathleen (William) Cicala of Leonard, and Michael (Kathy) Staniec of Medina, Ohio.Loving Grandfather of Jonathan Cicala,, April Kote, Candice Cicala, Caitlin Cicala, Melissa Bolivar, Sara Adducchio, and Samantha Staniec. Great Grandfather of Giana and Maxwell.Mr. Staniec was a Sergeant in the Detroit Police Dept. Upon retirement he became an investigator for the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office. He was an active member of St Joseph's Catholic Church, and a veteran of WW 2 Army Air Corps. Mr. Staniec was a member of Knight of Columbus Fr Carey Council 4764 in Lake Orion, American Legion Post 108 Oxford, V.F.W. Post 334, and the Detroit Police Officers Association. Memorial services Thursday 11:00 am. St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lake Orion. The Staniec family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Internment Great Lakes National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, or Seasons Hospice. Arrangements by Lake Orion Chapel, Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home (248-693-8336).
