David Charles Lohnes, of Oxford, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born March 13, 1940, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Franklin Wesley Lohnes and Gladys Lorraine Noffsinger Lohnes. David was raised in Dearborn, Michigan, and he graduated from Edsel Ford High School in 1958. At 16 years old, he earned his pilot’s license. Following high school, he began basic training in Texas with the Air Reserves – USAF. David later attended Spring Arbor College, where he met his future wife, Linda Fletcher. David and Linda got married on September 1, 1962. David also attended Henry Ford Community College, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute in Miami, Florida, where he graduated with a degree in airframe and powerplant technology in 1963. David returned to Michigan, where he worked in airplane maintenance at The Oakland County International Airport for many years before earning his commercial pilot’s license. Following in the footsteps of his father, who owned Dearborn Piano and Organ, David created his own piano business, Pianos Plus, within which he serviced and tuned pianos and manufactured piano parts until 2008.  Together David and Linda were married for more than 57 years. They had 4 children, Betsy (Tom) Peloquin, Steven (Connie) Lohnes, Scott (Pam) Lohnes and Matthew (Shelly) Lohnes. David is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Merilee Venturi and Linda Zimmerman. He will be dearly missed by all.
