Dawn Marie Pickering(Oates); of Shelby Twp.; born 3/20/1967; died 3/29/2015; Dawn was a loving daughter, sister and friend. She passed away in her sleep at home early Sunday morning. Dawn is the beloved daughter of Connie (Georgia) Oates and the late Sandra Oates; loving sister of Kelley, John (Penny), Nickie, Heidi; and step sister of Erik and Jeff. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephew. Dawn graduated from Lake Orion High School. She was always a fighter and lived her life as she wanted to live. Her life's motto was "Don't take you organs to Heaven, Heaven know we need them here." Nothing would please her more than to have her family and friends by happy and as fortune as she was. Dawn was a double transplant recipient. One being a kidney transplant from her beloved sister, and the other being pancreatic transplant from a young woman who lost her life in a tragic accident. Dawn's Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11am at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1-3 and 5-8 pm.
