Dean Allen Shinavier November 6, 1964 - December 30, 2013 Dean Allen Shinavier, 49, passed away unexpectedly, on December 30, 2013. Born in Dearborn on November 6, 1964, he moved to Lake Orion in 1978 where he was then a life-long resident. After graduating from Lake Orion High School in 1983 he went on to earn his licenses as a journeyman and master plumber, starting and running his own business, Viper Plumbing, which served businesses and residences throughout Oakland County for over 20 years. Dean will forever be remembered and celebrated throughout the southeastern Michigan sports community for his lifelong passion to many sports, not only through his own significant accomplishments but especially his devotion to mentoring young athletes for the past 20 years. His dedication and accolades include: Pitcher for the Pontiac Parkers, Pontiac Baseball league, 23 years All-time career wins leader for Pontiac Parkers helping lead them to 17 straight league championships Pitcher for Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL), World Series Championship Winners in 2004 Starting Pitcher for the First Annual Pontiac Baseball League All Star Game 2013 Sponsored and coached in the Lake Orion Youth Baseball League since 2002, and Orion Chargers for one year; Currently the head coach for the 9U Michigan Expos travel baseball team Pitching coach for Waterford Mott for two years Played hockey for many years, most recently for the Lighthouse Rehabilitation, Lapeer Helped coach Lake Orion Youth Football for 2 years Dean joins his late mom, Janet, in Heaven and leaves behind a loving, devoted, family including his wife, Pam, of 19 years and their three children, Ryan, 17; Shelby, 14; and Tyler, 8; his father, Fred; younger brothers Mark (Kathy) and Gary (Darlene); parents- in-law Al and Lynn Geldhof; and sisters-in-law Sandy, Laura (Eric) and Dianna, and nieces and nephews Cameron, Andrew, Matthew, Aidan, Cayden, Erin and Ellie. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to the Shinavier Family Memorial Fund. Donations can be deposited to any PNC Bank location (account 4267107745) or can be mailed to "The Shinavier Family Memorial Fund c/o PNC Bank, 601 Johnson, Lake Orion, MI 48362 (account 4267107745)" The fund's purpose is to help the kids and their mom with ongoing costs of education, sports activities they are currently enrolled in and any other immediate need that will help them maintain a sense of normalcy in the coming months and years. We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of love, support, prayers, calls, visits, meals etc. we have already received and are overwhelmed with the sincerity and kindness by everyone. Thank you.
