Denise Carol Schons; of Clarkston; age 82; passed away on February 7, 2022.
Denise, her siblings and parents operated a large dairy farm in Metamora, MI. Life on the farm was hard work, but she never complained and there was always plenty of love. Denise was very active in the Eastern Stars for many years.
After graduating from high school, she began what was to become a long and interesting banking career. Denise started as a teller and worked her way up to manager of a few different bank branches over time. She was dedicated to helping her clients and their businesses and developed many long-time personal relationships that she continued after retirement.
Denise was an extremely loving and dedicated wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and sister. Denise and Del loved taking spur of the moment getaways where Denise's mom, Betty would enthusiastically join them with little notice. The three of them would have great adventures! In later years, it would be Denise accompanying her son, Bill and daughter-in-law, Sally on spur of the moment adventures to just about anywhere. She never cared what they did, or where they went, as long as they were together.
She and Del were devoted grandparents and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with their two grandsons, Tynan and Camden. They were also fond of spoiling their granddogs, Beaver and Stella.
Denise spent 59 years in the lovely home that she and Del settled in a year after their first son Bill was born. Ten years later they were blessed with another son Mark. Denise loved her two boys deeply and was the kind of mother that gave them her all without spoiling them.
She loved spending time making her beautiful gardens bloom spring through fall. Her flowers were her pride and joy and were quite spectacular. Another passion of Denise and Del's were the local birds. They took great care in making sure that they had plenty of food and shelter. Denise's favorite was the hummingbird and Del's was the cardinal.
Denise was also a dedicated volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program in Independence Township for many years. While Del was alive, the two of them would deliver meals and always take the time to chat with those that they served and make sure that they were doing well. She cared very much for the folks that she served and formed long term relationships with many, even after she ended her service with Meals on Wheels.
Denise was an extraordinary woman, who did so much for so many and left her imprint on so many hearts. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
