Derek James Corbin

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, Derek James Corbin, age 52, on June 22, 2026.

Derek made his home in Rochester Michigan, but made a home in his heart for everyone he met. Those devilish eyebrows led to an Angels soul.

Derek lived his life on his own terms and never allowed his circumstances to steal his humor, determination and his love for life.

From day one he loved to go fast. His parents James and Dianna nick named him “Buzz” because he would buzz from room to room, always on the move. At the age of 4, he decided he needed an adventure so he rode his tricycle down the “big hill” and gave a motorist the scare of his life. Doing donuts in a parking lot with his best friend, to having the freedom of riding his motorcycle, Derek always wanted to go.

Derek will be missed and forever remembered by everyone he made his “family”, especially his sisters, Michelle Templin, Shannon Steuer and Kari Stout; brother and sister-in-laws, Victor Templin, Henry Steuer, Jennifer Williams and Travis Stout; and nephews, James Corbin, Caleb and Deagan Stout.

Derek has joined and been welcomed by his loved ones James R. Corbin, Dianna M. Gering and Alan C. Gering who proceeded him to the other side.

Arrangements for a Celebration of Life will be shared with family and friends in the coming days.
