Campbell, Donald E., June 21, 2009, Age 91 died at his daughter and-son-in laws home in Lapeer, Michigan. Mr. Campbell and his wife Blanche resided in Maggie Valley, NC for 32 year prior to moving to Michigan in 2006.Don was born to Ollie and Olive Campbell in Detroit on November 5, 1917.He is survived by his loving wife Blanche of 66 years, daughter and son-in-lawJudith and Pastor Leonard Kitson, two sisters; Betty Phipps and Arlene Smith, eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Nancy Carol Norman, brother; Howard Campbell, grandson; Kent Norman, and a great-granddaughter Stacey Lynn Watkins. Mr. Campbell began his tenure with Ford Motor Company at the age of 16 in 1934 in the trade school, and retired in 1974 after 40 years as the Service Manager of the Technical Center in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Moving to Maggie Valley, NC, He and Blanche became very active members of the community as well as members of the Maggie Valley Methodist Church. They were active members until they moved backed to their daughters home in Michigan because of his failing health. Mr. Campbell was a Lifetime Member of the Plymouth, Michigan Masonic Lodge and his happiest years were spent in Maggie Valley.Memorial contributions may be directed to the Maggie Valley United Methodist Church.Memorial Service 3pm Friday, July 3, 2009 ,Maggie Valley United Methodist Church.
