Donald Lee Scriver Sr.

Donald Lee Scriver Sr.; of Lapeer; passed away March 27, 2017 at the age of 84. Don is the beloved husband of Joan for 64 years; loving father of Donald L. Scriver Jr., Suzanne (Claude) Oudin, Kathleen (Rex) Baxter, Joni (Rob) Brooks and the late Lori Van Meter; and loving grandfather and great grandfather to many.  He was preceded in death by his grandson Christopher Scriver; parents Russell and Irene Scriver; his mother and father in law Norman and Beatrice Kinch; and his 12 brothers and sisters.  Don was a crane operator at Koenig Gravel Pit and later retired from American Aggregates.  Don was a member of Pathway Baptist Church.  He loved dancing, camping and just about any animal, especially his dogs.  And more than anything, he will always be remembered for his hats and his cheesy jokes.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11am at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion,  with Pastor A. Wayne Bennett officiating.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 2-8pm.  Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Oxford.  Memorials may be made to Arborview Veterinarian Service in Lapeer.
