Doris E. Kalso

Doris E. Kalso; of Lake Orion; August 26, 2015; age 87. Beloved wife of the late Richard "Dick" Kalso for 64 years. Loving mother of Rick (Patty), Ron (Cheri) and Russ (Patty); dear grandma to Nicole (Ryan) Grinwis, Nathan, Neal (Pam), Kellen (Channing), Keane (Holly), Reed (Sally), Sheylan, Kristi (Ryan) Rumberger and Derek Elliott; great grandma to Avery, Chase, Jackson, Kylie, Keira and Arianna; dear sister to Jessie Isenhauer, Dawn Gilbert, Gilbert Gray, the late Betty Harp and Sarah Taylor; dear cousin to Lloyd and Gladys Bliss; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She also considered Rene' & Steve Samet, Bobby Johnson and Bill & Judy Gage her extended family. Doris retired from Lake Orion Community Schools after 20 years of service and was an active member of the Lake Orion United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was an avid crafter, bird watcher, and Tigers fan. Doris was a snowbird, wintering in Zephyrhills, Florida for 30 seasons. No matter where she was or what she was doing, it was obvious to anyone who knew her, that her greatest joy was her family. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11am at Lake Orion United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12-4 and 6-8pm at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion (248-693-8336). Interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
