Dorothy Ann Chapman

DOROTHY ANN CHAPMAN, 74, of Lake Orion, Michigan, beloved wife of the late Richard Lee Chapman, passed away on September 19, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born November 2, 1943 to Wilburn Leslie and Martha Helen Blaylock.  She fought a long hard battle with congestive heart failure and derived her strength and determination from her love for her children.

Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards, shuffleboard, drawing and painting.  She was a member of the Lake Orion/Oxford Eagles and enjoyed playing Euchre with friends there.

She was the loving mother of four children, Brigette Robertson (Jamie Melchert), Dawn (Gordon) Woods, Cheli (Scott) McArthur and Richard Chapman (Breann Parsons).  She was a proud grandmother of  Doug (Emily) Creamer, Heather (Britain) Creamer,  Kylie (Brian) Ruppert; Camden Arnold, Austin Arnold, Nicholas Woods, Megan Robertson, Brielle McArthur and Jayden McArthur; and great grandmother of Lily, Avry, Landon, Benjamin, Jaxon, Colton, and Alyson.  She is also survived by her siblings, Arthur Blaylock, Deanie Bradford, Judy Lovett and Leslie Blaylock.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the Lake Orion Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled at 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
