Dorothy Mary Gilbert

Dorothy M Gilbert, age 100 of Pontiac, MI passed away peacefully June 16, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in Ontario, Canada to John & Mina Baxter and moved to Michigan at age 5. Preceded in death by husband Jack, son Jon, brother Russ Baxter and her sister Margaret Glasson, she leaves behind daughter Dottie (Neil) Burke of Delaware, sister-in-law Loretta Baxter, daughter-in-law Carreen Gilbert, grandchildren: Joi (Scott) Straaten, Megan (Mike) Walter, Jeff Gilbert, Kristin (Steve) Daugherty, Mike (Jean) Gilbert, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She will be sadly missed and always remembered for her loving kindness, sweet smile, the twinkle in her eyes and her love of hockey & baseball. She was a longtime member of First Methodist Church Pontiac and St Paul’s Methodist Church.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Sparks – Griffin Funeral Home , Pontiac. Family will receive friends from 10 am until time of service. Internment at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice of Bingham Farms MI
