Dorothy M. Jones

Dorothy M. Jones; of Lake Orion; age 95; passed peacefully on July 13, 2018.

Born Dorothy Mary Finucan on July 24, 1923 in Eveleth, Minnesota, she came to Pontiac at age 18 working at General Motors, Plant 4, during WWII; leaving in 1948 to start a family with her husband Philip and was a long-time member of St. Vincent DePaul in Pontiac. She was a kind, honest, and friendly woman who loved and cared for all animals and always saw the best in people.  Mom loved to laugh and considered a good sense of humor an essential tool in navigating through life.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Susan Jones, Timothy (Sue Ann Brown) Jones, Terence (Mary Clancy) Jones, Jude (Bruce Hornby) Jones, Judith Latimer, Christine (Larry) Pershon; and many truly beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as her good buddies Bosco and Max. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Phil, and her mother Loretta A. (Ryan) Finucan.

Memorials donations may be made to the Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL) in Pontiac.

Mom we love you so much, we thank you for your always fair and nurturing example, and we miss you completely.
