Earl Sawyer

March 8, 1937 — August 8, 2015

Earl I. Sawyer; of Oscoda; age 78; August 8, 2015. Earl is survived by his beloved wife Betty of 55 years. He is the loving father of Cindy (Eric) Richard, the late Mark Sawyer, the late Gary Sawyer and Dan Sawyer; grandfather of Sara Jayne Richard, Allie Richard, Marissa Richard, Rylee Richard, Daniel Sheppard, and the late John and Michael Anne Richard; brother of the late Gordon, James, Joseph, the late Gerald, Janice, Raymond, Sharon, Tom, Tim and Gina; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his nephews Andrew Rasper and Joshua Sawyer. Earl retired from GM after 45 years and was a Marksman in the U.S. Army. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who always put himself last to make everyone else happy. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 1 pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. The family will receive friends from 11am until the time of service.
