Ernest Griffin Jr.

Ernest Griffin Jr. began life’s journey on July 10, 1948 in Valdosta, Georgia, to the union

of Ernest Sr. and Mary Griffin. He moved to Pontiac, Michigan at the age of 3. He made

his transition to be with the Lord June 4, 2016.

Ernest accepted Christ as his Savior at a very early age. He was a member of New Bethel

Missionary Baptist Church.

Ernest was educated in the Pontiac School System. Upon graduation he entered into the

Marine Corp, where he served in Vietnam.

Ernest’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with

his mother, children, grandchildren and siblings.

Ernest was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Griffin and his father Ernest Griffin Sr.

Ernest leaves to cherish his memories: his mother Mary Griffin Strawder; his children

Camhille Griffin, Micheal Griffin, Roschanda Griffin Sanchez, Maria Griffin, Mariane Gaiter

and Rashad Griffin, all from Pontiac, Michigan. He had fourteen grandchildren, two great

grandchildren, two sisters, six brothers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 12p.m. at Sparks – Griffin Funeral

Home, Pontiac. Family will receive friends from 10 – 12 p.m. Interment Perry Mount Park
