Ernest J. Hurst

Ernest J. Hurst; formerly of St. Clair Shores; age 91; April 23, 2014. Beloved husband of Rose Ann for 59 years; loving father of James (Kathryn), Kathy (David) Chmielewski, Kevin and Brian (Deborah); dear grandfather of Laura, Michael, Megan and Rachel; and brother of Mary Ley and Paul Hurst. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Ernest retired from Grosse Pointe Schools after 32 years as a teacher and counselor, and he was an avid gardener. Ernest was a WWII Army Veteran and a longtime Army Reservist. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, 111 East Flint Street, Lake Orion, 48362.
