Eurskin M Garten

Eurskin M. Garten; August 28, 1943 – December 9, 2022.  Loving husband to Helen (Gagliardi) Garten, for 58 years; wonderful father to his three children, April Garten, Kristena (Kevin) Cook, Sam Garten, and his oldest granddaughter, Anjelica Garten, whom he raised; very wonderful Papa to his grandchildren, Branden Garten, Andrew Garten, Marissa (Phil) Aitken, Anna Austin, Michael Garten and Faith Garten; and great grandpa to Matthew Aitken.  He is also survived by four sisters, Janice, Maydean, Eurcell and Judy; sister-in-law, Harriet; and many nieces, nephews and friends.  Eurskin is joining his father and mother in Heaven, Carres and Susie Garten, his brothers Garnette, Gordon and Garfield, his father and mother-in-law Salvatore and Helen Gagliardi, and his best friend of 45 years, Red.

Eurskin worked at General Motors for 46 and a half years.  He was a UAW Representative at Local 653 for 25 years.  Eurskin was an outdoorsman and loved hunting (deer, rabbit and coon) since he was a boy. He also planted his garden every year, and raised chickens, pigs, cows and turkeys.  His later years were filled with Flea Markets and people he met along the way.  Eurskin was one of the most helpful, giving men of his time and his family meant the world to him.  He had a one-of-a-kind personality and will be dearly missed by many.  Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 1:30pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion, with Pastor Bob Holt officiating.  The family will welcome friends for visitation on Sunday from 12:30 – 1:30pm.
