Eva Grace Brown (nee: Rewold); born January 7, 1917 on Griggs Street in Rochester to Frank M. and Martha Rewold (nee: Siewart); went to be with Our Lord May 22, 2014 at 97 years. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter W. Brown (1916 - 2009); elder brothers, Harold, Clarence "Rip" Rewold; younger brother, Roy Rewold; and cherished youngest sister, Phyllis Irwin. Survived by sisters, Geraldine Seed and Florence Metzger; son, Daniel (Debra) Brown; daughter, Susan (Thomas) Johnson; and grandchildren. The eldest daughter of 7 children and a 1934 graduate of Rochester High School, Eva was the matriarch. Working for her father, founder of Frank Rewold & Son General Contractors, as the bookkeeper for most of her life. In the late 1930's, she also worked as secretary and switchboard operator for Mitilda Dodge Wilson at Meadowbrook Farm. After retirement, the Browns moved to Leonard, Michigan. Mrs. Brown enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and was a long time member of Oxford United Methodist Church. Special thank you to Eva's dear special friend, Mandy and the staff of Lake Orion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11am at Oxford United Methodist Church at 21 E. Burdick St., Oxford, followed by a small luncheon. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4 - 8pm at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester or Michigan Animal Rescue League in Pontiac would be appreciated.
