Faye Muree Nordquist, age 84, went to be with the Lord Jesus on February 3, 2026. She was born on May 29, 1941 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Hilbert and Muree (Barr) Ash. Faye graduated from Waterford Township High School in 1959. In 1961, while working at Pontiac General Hospital, she met the man who would become the love of her life Ronald Nordquist. They were married November 3, 1961 in Drayton Plains, MI. Together they welcomed a daughter Leeann in 1962, and a son Scott in 1963. Faye was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family, first as a daughter and a sister, and then as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Besides spending time with her family, her passions were volunteering, genealogy, knitting, reading, and American history. She was also a faithful member of Community Presbyterian Church in Waterford, MI for many years and more recently Lake Orion United Methodist Church of Lake Orion, MI.
Faye is survived by her husband Ronald of 64 years; her children Leeann (David) Huff of Elsie, MI and Scott (Elizabeth) Nordquist of Macomb, MI; her five grandchildren Matthew Huff, Jon Huff (fiancée Hawraa Salama), Daniel Huff (fiancée Julie Gibbons), Janie Huff, and Addison Nordquist (fiancé Bradley Surovec); her sister Gail Cruickshank; her sisters-in-law Judy Nordquist and Barb Webster; and her brother-in-law Ted Webster. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers-in-law Robert Cruickshank, Robert Nordquist and Carl Nordquist, and her sister-in-law Penny Nordquist. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Lake Orion United Methodist Church at 11:00AM with Reverend Larry Wik officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church prior to the service from 10:00-11:00AM. At a later date Faye’s ashes will be placed in a columbarium niche at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Lake orion. Reflections may be shared by visiting www.Sparksgriffin.com.
