Florencio "Tony" Hernandez

Florencio “Tony” Hernandez Jr; age 78; of Pontiac; passed away on November 17, 2021. Tony was the beloved husband of Helen for 55 years; loving father of Lynn and Brian (Shannon); loving Banka to Melina (Liam), Brian Jr., Olivia, Alyssia, Marco and Aidan; adoring great grandfather to Lilliana, Archer, Waylon, and soon to be baby; and dear brother to Dora Cantu and Lydia (Oscar) Cantu. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Florencio and Natividad Hernandez; as well as his siblings, Delfina, Della, Perfecto, Alice, Consuelo, Susan, Evangeline, Betty, Leonardo and Laura. Tony retired from General Motors after 43 years. He had many hobbies that included bingo, fishing, bowling, golfing, going on casino trips with his wife and playing Mexican Train Dominoes with his family. He was very proud to be an Army veteran. He also loved being a part of the La Amistad Senior Center and the Lake Orion Community Center. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00pm with rosary prayers at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held  on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 9:30 am at St. Damien of Molokai Parish - St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 46408 Woodward Avenue, Pontiac. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery.
