On April 26, 2026, Frank “Frankie” Britt passed away unexpectedly at the age of 48. Frank was a lifelong resident of Pontiac. He was born on September 17, 1977, to Dennis and Barbra Britt.
Frank was a friendly, loving, and active man. He made sure to always call his mom goodnight and let her know he loved her. He always wanted to spend time with his sister, Mary, and brother-in-law, James, when he was home. He liked to go to the gym and hang out with friends. His favorite outdoor activities included car shows, camping, fishing, hunting, bottle collecting, and taking care of his chickens. Frank loved cars, big and small. He enjoyed going to car shows with his father and was very proud of his dad’s Monte Carlo, as well as racing RC cars with his Uncle Dale. His favorite racer was Dale Earnhardt.
Frank’s family had a tradition of going camping every year. It started with pitching a tent in the backyard when they were kids. As the years passed, their mom got a trailer for the trips. Finally, last year, Mary and Frank upgraded to their own trailer. Frank was so happy to get to spend quality time with his family in the woods. When going fishing, Frank would use the deposits from bottles he and his neighbors collected to pay for gas.
Frank was an animal lover. He loved his puppy sister Lila and his fur nieces, CJ and Jessie. Frank was bestowed the nickname “Egg Man” by his neighbors. He raised four hens: Dorthey, Rose, Blanche, and the late Sophia, from chicks. He loved his feathery girls, whom he personally picked out, stating, “They need to be the runts, the ones people don’t want.”
At his core, Frank was a family-and-friends kind of guy. He would smile and wave to everyone; he wanted to talk and be a part of anyone’s life who would participate. He would dance with his mom to “I Just Wanna Dance,” twirling her around the floor. He and his partner in crime, Mary, had a special routine to “Old Time Rock and Roll.” Frank wanted to bring excitement to everyone around him and gave his whole self to others. Frank will be dearly missed.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, Dennis; grandfather Frank Britt; grandmother Ellen Britt; grandfather Louis Cosselman; grandmother Ellen Rose Cosselman; and uncle Leonard Britt.
Frank is remembered by his mother, Barbra Britt; his sisters, Mary (James) Cork and Angie Stern; his many aunts and uncles; and too many friends to count. His community grieves the loss of such a bright smile and friendly man.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home.
