Gary R. Forester

Gary Roy Forester; of Clarkston; age 51; passed away on July 13, 2019. Gary is the beloved son of Mary Ellen Forester and Gary L. (Nancy) Forester; dear brother of Michael Raymond Forester; father of Anna Kathleen Powell; and uncle of Kyle Raymond Bailey. He is also survived by his loving significant other and life partner Meranda “Mandi” S-Krey; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Before graduating from Pontiac Northern in 1986, Gary was a football star and always the best athlete on the field at Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores. After high school he started as a Carpenter by trade. Thru the years he worked in all phases of construction and would ultimately become a Heavy Equipment Operator. Gary was an avid sports fan of all the local teams and in recent years he watched every Tigers game. His favorite however was watching the Lions games with his brother at the Silverdome. Gary was an ace pool shot, a Nascar junky, and a skilled woodworker who meticulously created many special pieces for his family. He also liked to work on his golf game, spend time on the water or by the grill. Some of his favorite times were spending summer nights with music and wild fun at Pine Knob with his brother and friends, and sharing family memories of his childhood. Gary was a prideful guy, who was also loving, caring and sensitive. Later in life he fought thru several major health issues and didn’t want anyone to know how much he was suffering. His struggles are now behind him, and Gary is with our Lord and his grandparents John William Forester and Ora Bernice Forester and George Raymond Welch and Rita Welch. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7pm with Rosary prayers to begin at 6:30pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion and on Saturday from 10am until the time of service at church.
