Gary Lee Miller

Gary (Doc) Lee Miller; age 78; of Lake Orion passed away on June 8, 2026. Gary was born December 21, 1947 in Goodrich, Michigan to the late John Clovis and Mabel (Ludwig) Miller. The younger brother of sister Carol.

Gary grew up in Oxford and worked at American Aggregates (along with his dad) as a heavy equipment operator.

Gary met the Love of his life Diane in June 1965 on a blind date. On April 30, 1966 they were wed at the Oxford Free Methodist Church and were married for 60 years. They honeymooned in Mackinac, which to this day was a favorite place for them both. Gary and Diane had 4 sons - Dave, Don, Dan and Dusty.

Gary was a member of the Orion/Oxford Eagles club from 1976 until his passing and was the club president in 1998-99. You could find Gary at the club on many Fridays hanging out with friends, enjoying a few brews and often tearing up the dance floor, like only he could.

Gary liked watching most sports including the Lions, Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings. He enjoyed Men’s softball where he played and coached for many years and met a lot of good friends. Gary also enjoyed bowling, canoeing, camping, shuffleboard and when younger arm wrestling.

He is survived by his wife Diane; sons, Dave, Don (Lisa), Dan (Tonya), Dusty (Tracy); grandchildren, Clare, Taylor, Joe, Alec, Lauryn, Megan, Emilee, Cody, Allison and great granddaughter Haven; sister Carol Hauxwell; sisters-in-law, Jerri Perkins and Tassi Spehar and 8 nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Lake Orion Methodist Church.

Per Gary's wishes A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday June, 26th from 4pm until 10pm at the Orion-Oxford Eagles Club.
