Gary Russell Boughner

Gary Russell Boughner; of Lake Orion; age 78; passed away on December 11, 2021.  Gary is the beloved husband of Edeltraud Edith Boughner for 56 years; loving father of Edward (Jeanette) Boughner and the late Michael Boughner; loving grandfather of Julie Mahan-Boughner and Samantha Boughner; uncle of many nieces and nephews in Germany; and great grandfather of granddog Remington.  He is the dear brother of Vivian Reichart.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Margaret Boughner and his sister Patricia DeMoss.  Gary was a very caring man who loved to spend time with his family.  He had the persona of a tough guy but was actually a big softie.  Even if he had to work he would find a way to attend his children’s sporting events and was always there for them.  He will be remembered for his constant sense of humor and was liked by everyone that he met.  Gary cared deeply about all animals and adopted many throughout the years.  Animals held a special place in his heart.  He also loved going up north fishing and weekend trips with his golf buddies.  He enjoyed traveling to Germany to see his family and going on cruises.  He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.  The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 11-3pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. A dinner will follow from 4-6 at the Orion/Oxford Fraternal Order of Eagles.  A private family funeral service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 12pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion.  In lieu of flowers, we request a bag of dog food or donations that will be given to a local dog rescue in Gary's honor.
