Gary Sample

Gary Sample; age 59; passed away at his home in Lake Orion on February 18, 2019. Gary was born on October 7, 1959 in Pontiac, Michigan to Retta (Buhl) Sample and Thurman Sample. He was a 1979 graduate of Pontiac Northern High School. He enjoyed boating, playing guitar, spending time with his brothers in Manistee hunting, and spending time with family, especially his daughter Hannah who was the love of his life. He worked as a new truck salesman at Somerset GMC Troy. He was previously married to Debbie Stoner and Carole (Stricker) Sample. He is survived by his siblings Diana (David) Berlin, Thurman Allen (Lynn) Sample, Peggy (Robert) Bailey, and Valerie (Bill) Davis; daughter Hannah Sample; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Roger Sample. Family, friends, and others whose lives Gary touched, are invited to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ortonville on Saturday, March 2, 2019 for visitation from 10am to 12pm with service starting at 12pm and luncheon to follow, to reminisce, grieve, and support each other.
