George Steven Steinbach; age 81; passed away on September 27, 2026. George was born in Pontiac on August 1, 1945 to Adam Steinbach and Blanche (Rochon) Cooley. George is the brother of the late Carole (Carl) Heichel, Louise Campbell, John (Jan) Steinbach, Margaret DeGroff (Steinbach), William Steinbach, Elizabeth (Ryan) Bradford and Heidi (Daniel) Diehm. He is also the grandfather of Preston Bradford, Gage Steinbach and Katie Steinbach; uncle of many nieces and nephews, cousin to many; and special friend of Debbie Evan and family. George served in the military with the National Guard and US Navy. He enjoyed Rosary making and repairing. That expertise allowed him to help many area churches and their families continue to preserve, pray and pass down their cherished rosaries. George was also so very proud to have attended the Silverdome when Pope John Paul visited. The family would like to share a special thank you to Residential Hospice and Shelby Health Center of the Hudson Group. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 8th, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lapeer. Burial with military honors will follow at 1:30 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
