Gerald "Jerry" A. Stenwall

Gerald A. (Jerry) Stenwall; age 84; of Bloomfield Hills; passed away at home on March 6, 2019. Preceded in death by his loving wife Donna (Ronketto) Stenwall of 57 years; parents Alex and Ina (Koskela) Stenwall and brother Paul (Maggie) Stenwall. Jerry is survived by his loving children, daughter, Denise (Terry) Brown, son, Jim Stenwall, and daughter, Diane (Steve) Helzer; dear grandfather to Marcie Lintz Hall, Timmie (Eddie Aldrich) Lintz, Jeff (Morgan) Harris, and Val (Shawn) Loveless; cherished by 11 great grandchildren; loving brother of Dick (Betty) Ronketto; cherished uncle to a niece and several nephews; special longtime friend/co-worker to Jim Immell and many wonderful neighbors including Karen, Ali & Emily who checked in on him daily in the last few years; and car buddies/co-worker retirees who meet for breakfast once every month. Jerry worked for Pontiac Motor Division as a Tool Maker (later as supervisor) for 37 years after graduating from high school and trade school. His passion was cars, cars and more cars! Building, owning, driving and problem-solving anything car related. He was a friend & Mr. Fix-it to everyone and anyone. The extraordinary skill and precision he had in mechanical things made him highly sought after for advice by neighbors, friends and even friends of friends. Jerry loved helping people. His joy of spending time in the garage or under the hood of a car was exceeded only by his love and caring for his family and friends, who will very much miss his quick wit and unique sense of humor. The Stenwall family will hold a Celebration of Life in the month of June 2019 an exact date is currently undecided. Those interested in attending please contact the family directly for information in April 2019. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Jerry to the American Heart Association.
