Gerald Don Soldan

Soldan, Gerald "Don"; of Nuncia, MI, age 85; passed away January 6, 2014. Don, was one of 7 children born to the late Celista and Gordon Soldan. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charlotte (nee: Lamphier); dear father of Sandra Bryant and Helen (Chuck) McAvinchy; loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his children Mary Myers and Johnny Soldan. Don, was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. He was best known for his colorful stories and his remarkable mechanical abilities. He built a home in Lake Orion that he once lived in. His iron constitution prevented him from missing one day of work in his 25 years working for the Lake Orion D.P.W. After retirement he became a "snow bird" with Charlotte spending winters in Florida. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m. at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME , Lake Orion.
