Gilberto &Quot;Chon&Quot; Negron

May 2, 1941 — April 18, 2009

Gilberto "Chon" Negron, of Pontiac; passed away suddenly April 18, 2009 at the age of 67. Gilberto is survived by his beloved wife Olga of 48 years; children, Wilberto, Wanda, Jose and Ivette (Baron) Brown; "special" grandchildren, Kristy, Adam, Sean and Veronica; grandchildren, Egi, Melanie, Natalie, Tony, Nathan and Sophia; great grandchildren, Gabriela, Lyanette, Makayla, Anacelis, Adamaris and Gisselis; and siblings, Gloria, Aida and Luis. Chon moved to Pontiac with his wife Olga in 1970 from Puerto Rico. He worked and retired from the City of Pontiac after 27 years of service. Chon was very proud to have been a part of the Pontiac community for so many years and always cherished the many friendships that he had developed over the last 38 years. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery.
