Gloria “Jean” Jackson (High) quietly passed to be with the Lord on January 8, 2019 in the home of her daughter Cassandra N. Farley (Jackson) and son-in-law Joseph D. Farley, surrounded by daughter Marcia R. Jackson, son Nemar L. Jackson, and former spouse Norris R. Jackson. She was 75 years old.
Gloria was born on February 28, 1943 to Milo and Minnie High in Plain Dealing, Louisiana and is survived by brothers Wyman High, Willie High, Marion High, Overton High, Clarence High, and Treness High; sisters Burnadean Lampton-Reid, Apple Zone Boothe, Gloria Ann Stewart, Arabia Watkins, and Olivia High.
Gloria is known for giving and praying for others, despite the terminal illness she suffered for 30 years. She was a loving mother who never stopped praying, providing, and caring for others until her life on earth was completed. Gloria’s faith in the Lord helped her to overcome many challenges over the years, but many of her prayers came to past in the lives of her children and family. Gloria’s phrase in life was , “In Jesus name!”
Prayer will proceed Gloria’s burial on January 11, 2019 at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan. A memorial service will be at Avon on the Lake Community Center, 2889 Sandpiper,
Rochester Hills, MI 48039 on February 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends to attend and celebrate Gloria’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to: 44265 Timberview Ct., Belleville, Michigan 48111.
